1. ABOUT US

These General Terms and Conditions apply to services supplied by: CARDIP (UK) Ltd. Company number: 17253496. Registered in England and Wales.

CARDIP® is a brand of Colosol Coatings GmbH, Germany. CARDIP products and systems are developed and produced by Colosol Coatings GmbH in Germany. cardip.com

References in these Terms to “CARDIP UK”, “we”, “us” or “our” mean CARDIP (UK) Ltd. These Terms apply to enquiries, quotations, bookings and services supplied directly by CARDIP (UK) Ltd.

Where work is carried out by an independent CARDIP installer or another third-party business, that business may have its own terms and conditions and may be the contracting party responsible for the services it supplies.

2. THE CARDIP SYSTEM

CARDIP is a professional peelable coating system designed for automotive and other suitable surfaces. Depending on the agreed specification, the CARDIP system may be used for paint protection, colour transformation, finishing or a combination of these applications. CARDIP products are intended to be professionally applied using approved preparation, application and finishing procedures. The precise products, number of layers, colour, finish, coverage and preparation required will depend on the vehicle, its existing surface and the specification agreed with the customer.

3. VEHICLE ASSESSMENT

Before work begins, we may inspect or request information about the vehicle and its existing condition. Customers must disclose, where known, relevant information including previous paintwork, repairs, refinishing, bodywork, coatings, damage or other modifications that could affect the application or removal of the CARDIP system.

The suitability of a vehicle for treatment depends on factors including: the condition of the existing paint or substrate; previous repairs or refinishing; existing coatings or treatments; damage or defects; the areas to be treated; and the CARDIP specification selected. We may decline or modify a proposed application where we consider the vehicle or surface unsuitable.

4. QUOTATIONS

Unless expressly stated otherwise, website prices are indicative starting prices only. Each vehicle may require a different level of preparation, material, labour and finishing. A quotation may therefore depend on factors including the vehicle, its condition, coverage, preparation required, selected colour, finish and level of customisation. A quotation becomes binding only once the specification and price have been confirmed by us. Additional work identified after inspection or during preparation will be discussed with the customer before material additional charges are incurred.

5. BOOKINGS AND DEPOSITS

A booking is not confirmed until any required deposit has been received and CARDIP UK has confirmed the booking. Where a deposit is required, the amount and applicable payment terms will be communicated before payment. The remaining balance must be paid in accordance with the payment terms stated on the quotation, invoice or booking confirmation. Where a customer requests a change to the agreed specification after work or preparation has commenced, additional charges and additional completion time may apply.

6. CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING

Customers should notify us as soon as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule a booking. Where products, bespoke colours, materials or other resources have already been ordered or prepared specifically for the customer’s project, reasonable costs already incurred may be deducted from any refund where permitted by law. Any specific cancellation or deposit conditions applicable to a project will be communicated at the time of booking. Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory cancellation rights that may apply to consumers.

7. COLOURS AND FINISHES

Digital colour representations, photographs, screens and online samples are indicative only. Screen calibration, lighting, photography, vehicle shape, substrate and finishing processes may cause the final appearance to differ from a digital representation. Where appropriate, final colour and effect will be confirmed using a physical spray-out or other suitable sample before application. Bespoke colours and finishes may vary slightly between batches, repairs or later applications.

8. APPLICATION AND COMPLETION TIMES

Any completion date or estimated turnaround time provided is an estimate unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing. Completion may be affected by the vehicle’s condition, preparation requirements, curing requirements, additional work, availability of materials or circumstances outside our reasonable control. We will keep customers reasonably informed if there is a material change to an expected completion time.

9. EXISTING PAINT AND PREVIOUS REPAIRS

CARDIP is designed to be applied to suitable surfaces. The performance of the system and the outcome of future removal depend partly on the condition and integrity of the surface beneath it. CARDIP UK cannot guarantee the integrity of previous repairs, refinishing, filler, poorly bonded paint, damaged lacquer or other work carried out before the vehicle came into our care. Where an underlying surface is already compromised, application or later removal of a coating may expose or affect that pre-existing weakness. Where reasonably identifiable, we will discuss material concerns with the customer before proceeding.

10. REMOVAL

The CARDIP system is designed for professional removal using the approved CARDIP process. Removal should be undertaken by an appropriately trained professional. The outcome of removal depends on factors including the original substrate, its condition, previous repairs or refinishing, application, age and subsequent treatment of the vehicle. Customers should therefore contact CARDIP UK or an appropriate CARDIP specialist before attempting removal.

11. CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Customers will be provided with appropriate care guidance where applicable. The customer is responsible for following recommended washing, maintenance and care procedures after handover. Damage caused by improper washing, chemicals, abrasives, accidents, misuse, neglect or failure to follow care instructions may not constitute a defect in the CARDIP application.

12. INSPECTION AND HANDOVER

Once work has been completed, the vehicle will be inspected before handover. Customers should inspect the vehicle when collecting it and notify us promptly of any concerns. If a customer believes there is a defect in the workmanship or application, CARDIP UK should be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle and, where appropriate, remedy the issue. Nothing in this section affects a consumer’s statutory rights.

13. DAMAGE AND REPAIRS

Damage occurring after handover, including accident damage, stone impacts, scratches or damage caused by third parties, is not automatically considered a defect in the CARDIP application. Where a treated panel is damaged, contact CARDIP UK or an appropriate CARDIP specialist so that the affected area can be assessed and an appropriate repair or reapplication route recommended.

14. WARRANTIES

Any specific warranty applying to a CARDIP product, application or service will be explained in the relevant quotation, booking documentation or warranty documentation. Warranty coverage may be subject to conditions relating to application, maintenance, vehicle use and inspection. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable UK consumer law.

15. CUSTOMER PROPERTY

Customers should remove valuable or personal items from their vehicle before leaving it with us. We will take reasonable care of vehicles and property placed in our possession. We are not responsible for personal belongings left inside a vehicle except where loss or damage results from our failure to exercise reasonable care or where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

16. PHOTOGRAPHY AND MARKETING

We may photograph vehicles for internal records, quality control and documentation. We will obtain appropriate permission before using imagery in a way that identifies an individual customer. Where agreed with the customer, photographs or video of completed vehicles may also be used for CARDIP UK marketing, social media, portfolio or promotional purposes.

17. LIABILITY

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or other liability that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to applicable law, CARDIP UK will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was entered into. If you are purchasing CARDIP services as a consumer, your statutory rights remain unaffected.

18. THIRD-PARTY AND INDEPENDENT INSTALLERS

CARDIP UK may introduce customers to or work alongside independent CARDIP installers and other automotive specialists. Where a customer enters into a contract directly with an independent installer, that installer is responsible for the services it supplies under its own contractual terms. Certification, training or participation in the CARDIP professional network does not automatically make an independent business an employee, agent or branch of CARDIP (UK) Ltd. Customers should establish the identity of their contracting business before authorising work.

19. WEBSITE INFORMATION

We take reasonable care to ensure information published on the CARDIP UK website is accurate. However, product specifications, colours, availability, pricing and services may change. Images and digital representations are provided for illustrative purposes unless expressly stated otherwise. Information on the website does not constitute a binding quotation or contractual offer.

20. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

CARDIP® is a brand of Colosol Coatings GmbH. Manufacturer documentation likewise identifies CARDIP as a Colosol Coatings GmbH brand. cardip.com Nothing on the CARDIP UK website grants any licence or right to use CARDIP intellectual property except as expressly authorised.

21. PERSONAL DATA

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection law. Information submitted through enquiry, quotation or installer forms will be used to respond to the enquiry and administer the relevant relationship or service.

22. COMPLAINTS

If you are unhappy with a service provided directly by CARDIP UK, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can investigate the issue. We may request photographs, documentation or an opportunity to inspect the vehicle before determining the appropriate response. If the work was contracted directly with an independent installer, complaints relating to that work should initially be raised with the relevant installer.

23. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes to our services, business practices or applicable law. The Terms applicable to a particular transaction will normally be those in force when the relevant booking or agreement is made, unless otherwise agreed.

24. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also benefit from mandatory rights available to you under the laws applicable where you live. Nothing in these Terms affects rights that cannot legally be excluded.
